While DefenseReview (DR) was looking at Grey Ghost Gear (GGG) combat/tactical products on their boat at NDIA SOFIC 2015 (Special Operations Forces Industry Conference 2015), we also took a quick look at a slick little 1.5″ (1.5-inch) gun belt called the Grey Ghost Gear Son of Paladin Belt, which is essentially just a narrower, stiffer variant of the 1.75″ (1.75-inch) Grey Ghost Gear Paladin Belt gun belt. The Son of Paladin Gun belt is constructed of Scuba webbing sandwiched between MILSPEC nylon. “A 1 inch piece of nylon webbing is added to the center of the belt with channels sewn every 1.5 inches to accommodate the addition of pouches that attach to Molle.”
The Son of Paladin Belt gun belt is topped off with a 1.5″ AustriAlpin Cobra Quick-Release Buckle, while the Paladin Belt gun belt sports a 1.75″ AustriAlpin Cobra Quick-Release Buckle. Cobra Buckles are made from 7075 aluminum alloy with solid brass and stainless steel internal release mechanisms.
Both Grey Ghost Gear gun belts (Paladin and Son of Paladin) are available in various sizes and colors. Defense Review only saw and handled the Son of Paladin Gun Belt briefly, but it looked good, and appeared to be very well made and rugged. It’s available in Black, Coyote Brown, Kryptek Highlander, Kryptek Typhon and Wolf Grey. The Paladin Gun Belt is available in Black, Coyote Brown and Crye MultiCam.
