Atlantic Signal AS Below H2O Waterproof Diveable Tactical Headset for Military Special Operations Forces (SOF) Combat Divers: Deeper, Longer Tactical Comms (Communications) for Underwater Maritime Operations! (Video!)
Atlantic Signal (AS) recently introduced their brand new Below H2O diveable tactical headset at NDIA SOFIC 2015 (Special Operations Forces Industry Conference 2015) that allows military SOF (Special Operations Forces) combat divers to communicate at a depth of up to 33.3 feet for up to 10 hours. Using a Peltor headset as its base, the AS Below H2O tactical comms (communications) headset features an in-line quick-disconnect connector can handle depths of up to 30 meters. The system is “built for dual-comm operations, as well as the ability to plug into a helo (helicopter) when they surface,” according to Atlantic Signal’s Director of Operations/U.S. Military Sales Randall Hedrick, who talked to DefenseReview (DR) about the new product at the show.
Defense Review has previously written about Atlantic Signal’s excellent AS Dominator waterproof bone-conduction tactical headset that also offers active hearing pro (hearing protection) to the assaulter/operator, but the new AS Below H2O apparently takes waterproof tactical headsets to a whole new level.
