Earlier this year, DefenseReview (DR) got to examine a very interesting StingerWorx EMPEROR Series modular titanium muzzle can (silencer/sound suppressor) at SHOT Show 2017. The Emperor suppressors are a collaberation between StingerWorx and US Night Vision Corp. (USNV). The Emperor series rifle cans are designed for tactical AR’s (AR-15’s) and AK’s (Kalashnikov AK-47/AKM’s), and there are four variants, the EMPEROR 556-L2 (5.56x45mm NATO/.223 Rem., full-auto rated on barrels 10.5″ or longer), EMPEROR 65-L1 (6.5 Creedmoor, semi-auto-only rated on barrels 16″ or longer), EMPEROR AK-L2 (7.62x39mm Russian, full-auto rated on barrels 12″ or longer), and Emperor .30 cal L2 (Multi-Caliber), and they’re all the same price (currently $999.00 USD MSRP), with the possible exception of that last one (.30 cal L2 (Multi-Caliber).
The USNV/StingerWorx EMPEROR rifle cans’ main claims to fame are their all-titanium construction and modularity. The Emperor can’s baffle stack is replaceable in the event of a baffle strike, and the there’s a QA/QD (Quick-Attach/Quick-Detach) “Reflex Chamber”, or “”Over the Barrel Expansion Chamber (OBX)” for enhanced sound suppression of 1.5-3 decibels (dB) without increasing the barrel length.
The Emperor rifle suppressors also come with some interesting tools, including the very interesting Spanner Wrench (that looks like a car engine component) to help the operator/shooter change all the configurations. All the torque specs are machined into the wrench. There’s also a Blast Chamber Clamp that assists in disassembling the suppressor, as well as attaching and detaching the suppressor to and from your rifle/carbine/SBR (Short Barreled Rifle). “If your suppressor gets stuck, you can take your Allen wrench, put it in the hole here, and break it free,” says StingerWorx’s Dave Adamson.
Mr. Adamson also showed DR the StingerWorx titanium EMPEROR Muzzle Brake, which is threaded for attaching the Emperor Suppressors, and looks well designed, and well made (as do the cans).
Defense Review was really impressed with the USNV/Stinger Worx Emperor Suppressor we saw at SHOT, and look forward to running one at the range sometime. In the meantime, enjoy the video we shot of it below.
Editor’s Note: Guns&Tactics has a nice hands-on review of the StingerWorx cans, and you can check it out here.
