Taran Tactical Innovations TTI Extended Magwell(s) (Magazine Well) and Magazine Base Pad Extension Kits for Glock Combat/Tactical and Competition Pistols

Speaking of aftermarket Glock pistol components, DefenseReview (DR) just came across some photos and video footage we shot at SHOT Show 2015 of our friends Taran Butler of Taran Tactical Innovations (TTI) and Keith Garcia of Cobalt Kinetics discussing the TTI Extended Magwells and Magazine Base Pad Extension Kits (or, Extended Base Pads) for Glock pistols (competition and combat/tactical pistols). For some reason we never published it. So, we’re remedying that now.

Regarding the Taran Tactical Innovations TTI Extended Magwells, there’s the TTI Competition Lightning Magazine Well for Glock 17 (G17) 9mm Parabellum/9x19mm NATO and Glock 22 (G22) .40 S&W pistols, and the TTI Carry Magwell for Glock 19/23 (G19/23). In DR’s video below, Butler discusses what’s special about the TTI Competition Lightning Magwell’s unique design, which allows for the fastest, easiest speed reloads possible, while adding a little bit of weight (about 5.5 ounces) to the gun for control, and still allowing the gun to meet the overall size requirements for IPSC matches.

An added bonus is that the Lightning and Carry Magwells accept magazines with Taran Tactical Innovations Base Pad Mag Extensions, which allow the shooter to quickly seat and extract the magazine when using an extended magwell. Some of the TTI Mag Extensions increase the ammo capacity by 4-5 rounds.

Defense Review likes the TTI stuff we’ve seen so far, and will be following this piece up at some point with a piece on the Taran Tactical Innovations TTI PMAG Extension AR-15, which adds 5 rounds to the 30 rounder for 35 rounds, and 6 rounds to the 40 rounder for 46 rounds, which represents a nice little bump.
