While we were conducting a quick run-through of our videos from the recent SIG SAUER New Media Writers’ Event 2014, we came across two videos we’d overlooked the first time around. They feature Adam Agri of SIG SAUER Special Weapons Development Group, and now the SIG SAUER Academy , taking DefenseReview (DR) through a bunch of the SIG MCX LVAW (Low-Visibility Assault Weapon) “Black Mamba” 5.56mm NATO/300 Blackout (300BLK) short-stroke gas piston/op-rod (push-type operating rod) suppressed, select-fire SBR/PDW’s (Short Barreled Rifle/Personal Defense Weapon) features, which include it’s manually adjustable gas system, which allows the assaulter/operator to use his thumb to switch the weapon between subsonic and supersonic ammo modes.

Additional SIG MCX LVAW features covered in the videos below are it’s slimline folding stock, tactical handguard/rail system removal procedure, swapping out barrels and the weapon’s silencer/sound suppressor, specifically the suppressor’s tapered threads, which act as a “self-jamming mode” to lock on tight and prevent the suppressor from shooting loose like a normal thread-on suppressor. The MCX LVAW’s can (muzzle can) looks pretty slick. All the videos and photos below were shot at the SIG SAUER Academy range.

Editor’s Note: DR really appreciated the time Mr. Agri spent with us on the SIG weapons. He did a great job during the event, and was very personable and informative.
