In addition to making a very cool bullpup .50 BMG anti-materiel/sniper rifle, Desert Tactical Arms (DTA) is currently making some very interesting .338 Lapua Magnum and .30 Cal. (7.62mm NATO/.308 Win.) rifle suppressors (rifle silencers/sound suppressors) under the “Desert Tactical Sound Suppressor (DTSS)” title. The company makes both steel and titanium cans (muzzle cans) in house, but the one DefenseReview (DR) saw at SHOT Show was a titanium model.
“The important features on our suppressors are they’re the most accurate can that we’ve tested and have the least amount of impact shift. Generally, the titanium model, which is a hair over one pound [1 lb] has about one minute to one and a half minute impact shift of vertical,” said Nick Young, DTA’s president/CEO.
It would seem logical that DTA will at some point offer .50 Cal. (.50 BMG) cans, but DR doesn’t yet have confirmation on that.
Titanium model MSRP is approx. $1700.00 USD.
Steel model MSRP is approx. 1200.00 USD.
