Over the last few years, Desert Tech (formerly Desert Tactical Arms, or DTA) has built quite the reputation for making some truly badass bullpup bolt-action long-range-interdiction tools, i.e., anti-materiel/sniper rifles/carbines. The DT Stealth Recon Scout-A1 (SRS-A1)-series rifles (standard and Covert) are modular and multi-caliber, and thereby highly mission-configurable. And, since they’re bullpups, they’re significantly more compact than conventional-config guns (nearly a foot shorter for the same barrel length), even when utilizing a longer barrel. The DT SRS-A1 Covert Rifle Chassis is incredibly compact, and still provides 1000-yard capability out of a 16-inch barrel–but you can swap it out for up to a 26-inch barrel, if necessary.
After all, that’s the whole point of a bullpup sniper rifle: same or greater barrel length and muzzle velocity in a more compact envelope/package. This enables long-range-interdiction specialists (snipers) to more effectively operate in confined spaces when going sneaky-sneaky. DT bills the SRS-A1 Rifle Chassis as “the most versatile sniper rifle system in the world”, and they’re probably right about that. It’s also incredibly accurate, achieving 1/2 MOA or better accuracy with DTM ammo.
The DT guns’ combination of compactness, mission-configurability and accuracy is damn tough, if not impossible, to beat. They’re very impressive, and the guns shown at SHOT Show 2013 are the most impressive versions, yet. Desert Tech is an interesting company to watch. They’re certainly not resting on their laurels.
The following information comes directly from the Desert Tech (formerly Desert Tactical Arms) website, and has been slightly edited:
The Stealth Recon Scout A1 (SRS-A1) is the most versatile Sniper Rifle system in the world. It is nearly a foot shorter than conventional sniper rifles, maintains 1/2 MOA or better accuracy with DTM Ammunition, and can be easily adapted to individual mission requirements by changing the weapon’s caliber and length. Whether a police sniper is shooting 50 yards or a military sniper is shooting a mile the SRS offers unrivaled flexibility in a package shorter than the M16 battle rifle.
Chassis does not include the SRS barrel, bolt, and magazine. The Conversion Kit and accessories are sold separately.

Desert Tech SRS-A1 Covert Rifle Chassis
The SRS Covert sniper rifle was purpose-designed for Police and Military snipers needing ultimate concealability and maneuverability. The rifle’s 26-inch overall length puts it in the submachinegun length class. The Covert’s 16-inch barrels provide 1000 yard capability with exceptional accuracy. The Covert is fully compatible with 26-inch barrel SRS conversion kits.
