While you’re over at the Armed Forces Journal (AFJ) Shoot-0ut at Blackwater 2005 page checking out the Auto Assault-12 (AA-12) full-auto shotgun video, you’ll also want to take a look at their video clip on Heckler & Koch’s HK416 carbine/subcarbine (5.56x45mm). In the video, you’ll want to listen to what AFJ evaluators Bob Taubert and Lt. Col. Tony Raper, USA, (ret.) have to say about the HK416 system. It appears from the AFJ video clip that the HK416 runs sighnificantly cleaner and cooler than the Colt M4/M4A1 Carbine. The video clip also implies that the HK416 is significantly more reliable and durable/rugged under adverse conditions (combat conditions) than the Colt M4/M4A1. Lt. Col. Raper even goes on to comment that the HK416 would make a "good replacement for M4 systems and M16 systems, eventually", especially since the Colt M4/M4A1 Carbine has been reportedly experiencing reliability and durability "issues" in the Sandbox.
