Speaking of interesting new plaid tactical shirts designed specifically for covert missions/ops and concealed carry, Tru-Spec is making a really nice looking short-sleeved one called the Men’s 24-7 Series Cool Camp Shirt, which DefenseReview (DR) also ran across at SOFIC (Special Operations Forces Industry Conference) 2016. The Tru-Spec Men’s 24-7 Series Cool Camp Shirt, available in light blue, grey and green color schemes, offers the same kind of faux button/snaps as the 5.11 Tactical Flannel Shirt DR just covered, along with some of its own set of features, like its “unique shoulder vent construction”, shoulder mesh cooling vent, angled underarm air vents for increased ventilation, and split seam for eas of movement. Like the 5.11 Tactical Flannel Shirt, the Tru-Spec Men’s 24-7 Series Cool Camp Shirt sports two chest pockets with flaps.

Obviously, the Tru-Spec Men’s 24-7 Series Cool Camp Shirt features lighter-weight fabrics than the 5.11 Tactical Flannel Shirt. From the information we gleaned on the product page, it would appear that the customer actually has a choice of moisture wicking, wrinkle resistant polyester/Spandex® fabric that provide 50+ UV protection (solid colors), or a 58/42% nylon/polyester blend providing 30+ UV protection (plaid colors). DR will try to obtain more information on the respective utility, comfort/feel, aesthetic and durability aspects of these two respective fabrics as soon as possible.

Defense Review will be receiving Tru-Spec Men’s 24-7 Series Cool Camp Shirt product samples soon for T&E, so we’ll try to do a review-type follow up on them at some point. We’re not sure which fabric variant(s) they’re sending us, but hopefuly it’s a mix.

The following (slightly edited) information comes directly from the Tru-Spec website:
