This new holster is definitely worth a look for anyone looking for a high-tech belt-slide (outside-the-waistband) holster for either open carry or concealed carry (CCW). It’s called the CQC SERPA Holster, and it’s brought to you by Blackhawk Products Group, formerly Blackhawk Industries. The CQC SERPA Holster utilizes the SERPA Active Retention System.

Unlike the Tactical Design Labs (TDL) "Professional Real Performance Duty Holster" that DefRev discussed in a previous article, the CQC SERPA Holster’s technology isn’t exactly a…

secret, since Blackhawk Industries describes the pistol-release mechanism’s operation on the BlackHawk® CQC™ SERPA holster page.

DefRev got a chance to handle the Blackhawk CCQ SERPA holster at TREXPO West 2004. The holster appeared to offer
a lot of bang for the buck, and the pistol-release mechanism is quick and natural to operate.

Blackhawk Products Group also offers the Blackhawk CQC Carbon-Fiber Composite holster. This holster doesn’t feature the SERPA Active Retention System. Both it and the CQC SERPA Holster feature a Carbon-Fiber finish appliqué that give these holsters a unique appearance. According to the Blackhawk Industries website, "all BlackHawk® CQC™ Carbon-Fiber Holsters include both Belt Loop and Paddle Platforms."

Blackhawk Products Group can be contacted at 757-436-3101, or toll free at 800-694-5263. Law Enforcement (LE) Sales can be contacted via email at le@blackhawk.com. Civilian Sales can be reached at sales@blackhawk.com. Government Sales can be contacted at gs@blackhawk.com.
