DefenseReview recently received an updated fact sheet on the AAE Stealth Technology System (STS). The new document focuses on an updated/upgraded version of STS called "Stealth II", which can protect helicopters and ground vehicles from heat-seeking missiles, artillary, and personnel with night vision viewers. AAE claims that Stealth II accomplishes this by cloaking/camuflaging helicopter and ground vehicles against thermal/IR (infrared) detectors/sensors and night observation devices/night vision devices (NODs/NVDs).

The Stealth II IR-Stealth cloaking tech, according to AAE, prevents the shooter from acquiring the IR-homing target lock. He will therefore not get the associated buzzer signal for target lock. The Stealth II document names the Russian SA-7, Chinese HN-5, and American FIM-92 Stinger and FIM-43 Redeye man-portable air defense systems (MANPAD), specifically.
