Ramo Defense Systems is the current importer and marketer of the USAS-12 shotgun. The USAS-12, looking like an M16 that’s pumped a lot of iron while on a steady diet of anabolic steroids, can fire a variety of 12 gauge, 2 3/4 high velocity shells reliably, including slugs and fleshettes. The weapon is a gas-operated, magazine-fed weapon that utilizes a 10 round box magazine as standard. A 20 round drum magazine is also available. The USAS-12 is also compatible with virtually all scopes, night vision equipment, and laser sights that can be used with the original version of the M16.
The current USAS-12 that is available from Ramo Defense is restricted to military and law enforcement clients. We believe it is semi-auto only but the weapon was originally developed as a select-fire CQB instrument, and should still be available in this configuration, at least on special order. We’ll look into this. Unloading 20 rounds of 00 buck or flechettes in a single burst on full auto sounds like an experience worth having to us.
