The U.S. Ordnance Mk43 Mod 1/M60E4 MMG/GPMG wasn’t the only machine gun DefenseReview (DR) got to run at the range, recently. DR also got to put the U.S. Ordnance M2HB-QCB (Quick-Change Barrel) “Ma Deuce” .50 BMG Heavy Machine Gun (HMG) through it’s paces and utilizing a Raytheon ELCAN SpecterHR dual red dot wide-view combat optic (combat sight) for the job. The gun ran like a top, and the SpecterHR worked great. Defense Review didn’t experience any malfunctions.
Until and unless the GDATP XM806 lightweight .50 BMG machine gun proves itself to be superior in combat, it’s DR’s opinion that the M2HB-QCB is the way to go when you need to put lots of big holes in stuff really quickly at long distance.
It should perhaps be noted that FNH USA (FN Herstal USA) military division is currently manufacturing and marketing their own M2HB QCB .50 Cal.
