Speaking of compact and subcompact pistols (see story below), DefRev also has yet to run the XD (X-treme Duty) pistols by Springfield Armory. The two models we’re most interested in evaluating are the 4 inch service model XD pistol and the 3 inch Sub-Compact XD pistol.
The 3" subcompact XD pistol might actually be the most interesting of the two, especially if you’re interested in a concealed carry (CCW) gun. As small as it is, this little subcompact features a…
pretty comfortable little grip that you can actually get three fingers on, and a short integral tactical light rail (white light mount) on the dustcover portion of the frame.
Click here to view the specs on the X-treme Duty (XD) pistols. Unfortunately, those specs don’t provide any info on the XD’s black finish, so we don’t yet know how it compares to the Glock’s tenifer finish.
If you have an interested in a tactical long-slide gun, you might want to check out the 5 inch Tactical XD pistol. The Tactical XD pistol is available with an O.D. green frame.
