Not content to just sit around on their laurels, the folks at Springfield Armory have been busy little bees, churning out some new 1911 pistols (single stack). The first new pistols we’ll mention are the new TGO 1 Service Model 5" Bi-tone and TGO II Service Model 5" Bi-tone 1911 pistols. Both pistols have been designed by 4-time world champion shooter, Rob Leatham. You can read about the specs on the new Springfield Armory TGO 1 and TGO II by clicking on this link, which will take you to the TGO page.

Perhaps even more exciting is Springfield Armory’s new incarnation of their Operator 1911 pistol that features a shortened 1913 picatinny rail (tactical white light mounting rail) on the receiver. The new Operator pistol also incorporates an O.D. green paint scheme on receiver. Word on the street has it that this new-version Operator pistol was designed specifically for a certain military division/unit. We won’t name the division/unit, but those Pachmayr grips sure look familiar. You can see the new Springfield Armory Operator pistol, and get some specs on it, by clicking on the link below:…

Springfield Armory has this to say about the new Operator 1911 pistol with abbreviated tactical light mounting rail:

"The Operator model pistol is the only pistol offered by a major 1911 manufacturer having a light mounting rail forged directly into the pistol frame. The standardized Picatinny mounting platform readily receives the most popular whitelight, infrared and laser illuminating devices used by US military Spec-Ops and law enforcement SWAT teams. This fully adjustable, extreme duty firearm is truly the best of the best."

These new 1911 pistols look good, and DefRev will try to find out as much as we can about them, and get some hi-res JPEG’s.
