Aguila Ammunition has just introduced their 1-3/4" 12 ga Minishell. Industrias Tecnos SA de CV from Cuernavaca, Mexico, is the manufacturer of Aguila ammunition, and developed the Minishell for law enforcement and military applications. Imported for Aguila by Centurion Ordnance, Inc. the new round has a number of advantages, including lighter recoil, higher capacity(as you can fit more rounds in the magazine tube), smaller size, and lighter weight. The last two aspects mean an operator can carry more rounds with less hardship, especially if long travel distances are involved. The company claims that due to the Minishell’s smaller size, a police officer or soldier would be able to carry about 40% more rounds than regular shotshells. Not bad, huh?
Currently, there are three loads available: a 5/8-ounce 7 1/2 shot load at 1150 fps, a combined load of seven pellets of No. 4 and four pellets of No. 1 Buck at 1200 fps, and a 7/8 ounce slug at 1250 fps. Also not bad.
