The mad(or should I say "Mad Dog"?) scientists over at MD Labs have just come out with their custom "Operator" single-stack 1911. The "Operator" is one of their "Hard Use" custom offerings. Basically, the goal behind this gun is to provide the end user with a single-stack 1911 that’s as close to indestructable as possible. Accordingly, they choose the highest quality and most durable components they’ve been able to find, including Doug Koenig hammer/sear kits, STI carbon fiber triggers, and their own MD Labs super-tough GunGrips, which are made out of the same material as their knife handles. These grips are basically impervious to heat and moisture, are much more impact resistant than wood, and electrically inert.
