The boys at Falcon Security Group (FSG) have produced another demo video of the FERFRANS H.V.L.A.R. (High Volume Light Automatic Rifle), which is a relatively lightweight IAR-type piston/op-rod (operating rod) AR carbine (AR-15 carbine) that utilizes FERFRANS Specialties’ patented Rate Reduction System (RRS), which lowers the weapon’s cyclic rate of fire (ROF) below the 700 rpm threshold, making the weapon significantly more controllable on full-auto, especially while moving and shooting.

The video features “Voodoo” of Falcon Security performing a full mag dump while walking and shooting at multiple targets with a HVLAR outfitted with a 150-round Armatac SAW-MAG double-drum magazine.

A weapon like the FERFRANS HVLAR may just obviate the need for a significantly heavier belt-fed light machine gun/squad automatic weapon (LMG/SAW) like the FN M249 SAW or FN MK-46 MOD 1 LMG/SAW. The H.V.L.A.R. is lighter weight, faster to reload, the ammo is protected by the closed magazine (including the ARMATAC SAW-MAG and SAW-LITE mags, and MWG 90-Rounder), and the handling, operating, and reloading procedures/protocols are EXACTLY the same as with the Colt M4/M4A1 Carbine system.

Here’s the video:

Notice the Grip Pod System (GPS) vertical foregrip/quick-deploy bipod weapon stabilization system in the video, by the way.
