Diamondback Tactical is marketing the Rugged Terrain Vehicle (RTV) as "the premier light tactical vehicle to meet today’s and tomorrows threat." The Rugged Terrain Vehicle (RTV) appears to be a modified "Prowler". More accurately, it appears to be a modified/upgraded Prowler Weapons/Reconaissance Platform that’s now been private-labeled by Diamondback Tactical.
The Diamondback Tactical Rugged Terrain Vehicle (RTV) is designed to give military Special Operations (SPECOPS) forces a…
small, rugged, and lightweight transportation and weapons-mounting platform that’s easily transportable on military C-130 aircraft.
I got a chance to sit in and inspect the Rugged Terrain Vehicle (RTV) at TREXPO West 2004, but I didn’t get a chance to drive it, or fire any guns off it. So, I can’t really render an informed opinion, yet. Hopefully, I’ll get a chance to T&E the RTV, sometime in the not-too-distant future. Then, I can really write about it. However, Denny Chalker and Jeff Gonzales were both enthusiastic about it.
The Rugged Terrain Vehicle (RTV) is definitely an interesting little item, and worth checking out. Diamondback Tactical is asking $24,995.95 for it. If you want to outfit it with a snorkel kit, that’s $1,295.95 more. The RTV M249 SAW & M240B Turret Swing Arm Mount will run you an extra $2150.95.
