Surefire, LLC has just come out with their M4FA suppressor/silencer. The suppressor was designed by Surefire’s "Director of Surefire Suppressors", Barry Dueck specifically for the M4/M4A1 Carbine.
According to gunwriter Gary Paul Johnston (in the "Proving Ground" section of the October 2003 issue of "Soldier of Fortune"), "because of the special alloys used in its construction, the M4FA suppressor is…
stronger at 1,200 F degrees than a stainless-steel suppressor is when cold, and it is guaranteed for 30,000 rounds."
Th M4FA suppressor can be attached and removed instantly via a simple hand-tightened nut that is secured by a device resembling a liner lock on a folding knife. The quick-secure/removal system requires a special M4/M4A1 barrel-mounted interface unit.
Military Spec-Ops and LE SWAT personnel looking for a suppressor/silencer for their M4/M4A1 Carbines might want to take a look at the M4FA suppressor/silencer. From what DefRev has heard so far, it’s supposed to be state-of-the art. Civilians who own M4/M4A1 style CAR-15’s and live in a state that allows Class III ownership should also give the M4FA a look.
