The following is a Calico Light Weapon Systems (CLWS) press release:

August 8, 2007

Calico Light Weapon Systems (CLWS) is currently in full production mode building its revolutionary and proprietary “Legacy Design” high-capacity, helical-feed 9mm and .22 cal. select-fire submachine guns and semi-auto-only carbines, SBRs (Short-Barreled Rifles) and pistols. The helical-feed magazine feature makes these Calico weapons unique, and unlike any other U.S.-made firearms.

And, new products are on the way. Calico is now in the final stages of…

testing a .40 cal prototype rifle and pistol. Moreover, Calico has recently begun producing an upper receiver conversion kit which will allow for the use of their 50 and 100 round helical magazines on MAC 10 & 11 platforms. Other pistol and rifle calibers will be available soon and will be introduced at the 2008 SHOT Show.

It’s important to note that Calico manufacturing process blends state-of-the-art technologies, materials and modernized manufacturing methods to offer significant improvements over typical rifle and pistol configurations. The company strives to produce firearms that perform flawlessly, are lightweight, load easily, shoot accurately and are simple to maintain.

On a side note, the Calico website has been completely redesigned. An expanding line of parts and accessories are also available to enhance the firearm owner’s shooting experience.

Calico is very excited about its latest firearms and accessory products and looks forward to serving its valued customers today and far into the future.
