As long as we’re on the subject of interesting new 5.11 Tactical products we saw at SOFIC (Special Operations Forces Industry Conference) 2017 we should probably mention the new 5.11 Tactical XPRT® MultiCam® Rapid Shirt combat shirt and XPRT® MultiCam® Tactical Pant combat pant, which were “developed exclusively for missions and special ops”. David Hein was kind enough to take DefenseReview (DR) through these products, as well, and we’re glad he did, as they’re quite nice, and would appear to be very well made. Both are made from a no-melt/no-drip FR Cordura® nylon ripstop fabric blend called NYCO Tactical, so they’re a little pricy. Hey, quality costs.

In addition to the NYCO Tactical nylon blend fabric, 5.11 Tactical XPRT MultiCam Rapid Shirt combat shirt also sports a DuPont Kevlar®-reinforced collar, among a plethora of other features like 5 storage pockets, articulated elbow pad pockets, padded shoulders, knit underarm gussets for “comfort and breathability”, zippered bicep pockets, durable YKK zippers, etc. You name it, it’s probably got it. It’s pretty nice.

Not to be outdone, the 5.11 Tactical XPRT MultiCam Tactical Pant combat pants sport some nice features of their own, like D30®-technology ENDO.K internal armor kneepad pockets for dynamic shock absorption, for example. DR doesn’t yet know whether the ENDO.K kneepads are included with the pants, or sold separately, but we’ll try to find out and update this article accordingly. Need storage pockets? The XPRT pants sport 16 of them, “including front hand pockets with Cordura® nylon knife reinforcement and cargo pockets with TacTec System™ and elastic tether loops”. The pockets are of course all flush-fitting for dynamic combat/tactical environments. It’s a nice pant that’s well-designed, and seemingly well-constructed of 60% cotton / 40% Cordura® NYCO Tactical nylon–and finished off with a Teflon coating/finish!

Just to cover the full spectrum of 5.11 Tactical XPRT MultiCam apparel, DR also likes the 5.11 Tactical XPRT MultiCam Tactical Shirt that we saw on the company’s website, although we wish we could have seen it in person at SOFIC. The XPRT MultiCam Tactical Shirt utilizes “no melt/no drip performance 60% cotton/40% Cordura® NYCO Tactical nylon, 4.2 oz. ripstop w/Teflon® finish” over the entirety of the shirt, and features 7 pockets, knit underarm gussets, articulated elbow pad pockets, the works.

While none of these high-quality combat/tactical garments are exactly inexpensive, their workmanship and attention to detail appear to justify their cost. Defense Review was impressed with them.
