By David Crane david (at) defensereview (dot) com April 26, 2018 As long as we’re on the subject of LALO Tactical high-tech kicks (sneakers, i.e., running shoes, cross-trainers and weightlifting shoes), we should perhaps also mention the 2019 LALO Tactical Bloodbird and Grinder model prototypes with digital combat camo (camouflage) pattern woven uppers that company founder/president/CEO Jay Taylor showed us, …

By Jeff Gurwitch April 22, 2018 M855A1 ammunition has been in use overseas since at least 2011, and has been in widespread service at most U.S. Army bases since 2014. I myself first saw it in 2012 in Afghanistan. Now, when M855A1 first came out, like many others, I heard the stories that due to the increased pressure the round …

By David Crane david (at) defensereview (dot) com April 14, 2018 As if full-auto-rated zero-back-pressure suppressors (silencers/sound suppressors) aren’t enough, Ernie Bray and the NG2 Defense (NEXGEN2 Defense) gang have also designed and developed “the first truly effective Multi-Dimensional Muzzle Device” called the MZLMAX AFD Muzzle Manager. Interesting…and catchy. Just like the NG2 cans (suppressors), the NG2 MZLMAX utilizes NG2’s …

By Jeff Gurwitch February 22, 2018 It’s a fact that using bipods and other accessories, such as shooting bags, go a long way in steadying the AR for shooting. While modern bipods work well, they also add extra weight and bulk to the front of the rifle. And, bags designed for stabilizing the rifle are not always practical for carrying …

By David Crane david (at) defensereview (dot) com February 8, 2018 Last updated on 2/13/18. DefenseReview (DR) has been covering the Nous Defions Arsenal Democracy (AD) Blackside custom Glock-type pistols for a few years, now (starting right after we first saw and handled them at SHOT Show 2015), and for good reason. They’re hands-down our favorite custom Glock-type pistols, and …

By David Crane david (at) defensereview (dot) com January 31, 2018 Last updated on 1/31/18. Speaking (briefly) of Glock pistols, there’s been a bit of interest surrounding the Glock 19X (G19X) and Gen5 Glock pistols, and perhaps even a bit of hype, so DefenseReview (DR) was glad to get to test fire them at SHOT Show Industry Day at the …

By David Crane david (at) defensereview (dot) com January 28, 2018 Last updated on 2/13/18. We here at DefenseReview (DR) are, historically, unabashed Glock 9mm guys (specifically the Glock 19, or G19). That’s what we carry. However, Walther Arms (and Walther USA) appear to be really killing it with their PPQ (Police Pistol Quick Defense Trigger) and PPS pistols, and …

By David Crane david (at) defensereview (dot) com December 4, 2017 Back in early 2015, DefenseReview published a piece on the Brugger and Thomet B&T AP556 5.56mm x 45mm NATO (5.56mm NATO)/.23 Remington assault rifle/carbine/SBR (Short Barreled Rifle), and it was our understanding at the time that it would eventually be offered in the USA as a semi-auto-only 5.56 carbine …
